About

Designed by Vaibhav Singh with consultancy from Fiona Ross, Skolar Devanagari draws on historical and contemporary letterforms to bring the scholarly credibility of the Skolar family to Indian-script typography. The five weights are equipped with an expansive set of consonant conjuncts, contextual matra variations and language-specific alternates for Marathi, Nepali and Sanskrit, as well as fitted punctuation and numerals. It is intended for use in print and on screen, from rigorous academic treatises to editorial and branding work, and complements Skolar PE for Latin, Cyrillic and Greek.

Classification

Skolar Devanagari is a text serif designed for academic and editorial use in the Devanagari script, grounded in traditional Devanagari type anatomy with humanist warmth; it pairs with the Latin/Cyrillic/Greek Skolar PE family.
