Manual Korytnica
Setup Type · Ondrej Jób · 2018

A digitisation of hand-painted lettering from guideposts at an abandoned spa in Korytnica, Slovakia, released by Ondrej Jób as a caps-only, narrow display typeface.
About
Each glyph exists in two variants that rotate automatically to reproduce the irregular rhythm of hand-painted lettering. The design shares construction principles with Manual Grotesk but carries its own character, shaped by whoever originally painted the spa's signage. With 386 glyphs covering over 100 languages across Basic and Extended Latin, it includes proportional lining figures, standard ligatures and ordinals.
Classification
A caps-only handpainted digitisation with no contrast and narrow width, intended for display use; its organic, utilitarian character and hand-lettered origins place it firmly in the display category rather than a conventional script or sans-serif.
