Auger Mono specimen from Signal

A fixed-width grotesque with an unusually broad set of stylistic alternates, shifting between plain utility and assertive geometry across six weights.

About

Designed by Seán Mongey and Max Phillips, Auger Mono draws on Leroy lettering templates, Fortunato Depero's Bolted Book and classic grotesque jobbing faces to produce a monospaced type with a wide expressive range. Stylistic alternates let it move between workaday legibility and aggressively geometric forms without losing the open proportions that keep it readable. Six weights from X-Light to Black extend its usefulness across coding environments, editorial work and display settings alike.

Classification

A fixed-width typeface with strong geometric alternates alongside workmanlike grotesque construction; the monospaced category is primary, with geometric sans influences drawn from Leroy lettering templates and Depero.
