The typeface originates from a small set of capital letters discovered on an old New York candle box, with Simple Bits filling out the remaining characters to match the worn, hand-painted character of the source material. It ships in one weight with upper and lowercase, numerals, diacritics for extended Latin coverage, alternate glyphs, and script-style discretionary ligatures for common words such as 'the', 'and' and 'for'. Best suited to logos, poster headlines, signage and branding where a rough vintage edge is appropriate.
