Ships Whistle specimen from Simple Bits

A monoline display sans-serif drawn from hand-lettered ferry signage on the Woods Hole to Martha's Vineyard route, available in clean and rough variants across four styles.

About

Inspired directly by lettering spotted on a Massachusetts ferry, the family comes in eight styles: Regular, Italic, Bold, and Bold Italic, each in both Clean and Rough versions. Extras include alternate character glyphs, maritime icons, swashy italic caps, and an ST/st ligature carried over from what may have been a printing error on the original sign. Best suited to signage, wayfinding and anything leaning into nautical or vintage American vernacular.

Classification

A monoline sans-serif designed specifically for display use, inspired by hand-painted ferry signage; the clean and rough variants reinforce its display and signage-oriented character.
