Assemblage Cuvelier
Smeltery · Jack Usine · 2018

A bespoke serif drawn from the historical logo of Château Léoville-Poyferré, blending Elzevir and Didot influences into a single typeface for the Saint-Julien estate.
About
Commissioned for Château Léoville-Poyferré, a second Grand Cru classé property in AOC Saint-Julien, this typeface by Jack Usine translates the château's existing handmade lettering into a formalised type design. The source material had accumulated its own character over decades, merging old-style Elzevir warmth with the high-contrast verticals of Didot. The result is a single-style face built for brand identity rather than extended typesetting.
Classification
Blends Elzevir and Didot influences, combining old-style and neoclassical serif characteristics into a single bespoke design rooted in French typographic tradition.
