Stigmate
Smeltery · Jack Usine · 2007

A single-weight geometric display face drawn from the tradition of tree-engraved love graffiti, rendered in a monolinear style.
About
Designed by Jack Usine in 2007, Stigmate takes its cue from carved letterforms found in tree bark, translating that impulsive, scratched quality into a clean geometric and monolinear form. Only one style exists, giving the family a focused, singular character suited to display and editorial contexts where a raw, personal tone is wanted. The foundry notes further weights may be added in future.
Classification
Stigmate is classified as display due to its single expressive style drawn from tree graffiti letterforms; its geometric, monolinear construction distinguishes it from standard grotesques and places it firmly in display territory.
