A serifless Roman in four subfamilies, drawing on Enric Crous-Vidal and the Graphie Latine movement for high contrast, flared strokes and a Latin energy.

About

A serifless Roman by Hugh Morse, conceived for both display and text in four subfamilies of fourteen styles each. Avec carries the humanist proportions and contrasting stroke weight of a Roman serif but trades the serifs for flared terminals, sharp glyphic points and sweeping cursive curves. The Stencil cut is tuned for headlines, Curve and Sharp suit subheads and large text, and Text holds at sizes as small as 6pt. Each style ships with over 790 glyphs and a variable weight axis, with italics drawn for every weight.

Classification

A serifless Roman in the Incised tradition, drawing on the short-lived Graphie Latine movement of the late 1950s and early 60s and on Enric Crous-Vidal's expressive humanist lettering. Retains Roman proportions and contrasting stroke weight without conventional serifs.
