About
Each glyph occupies an identical footprint, giving Bass a modular, grid-driven rhythm suited to posters and record covers. Arve Båtevik's digital expansion adds diacritics, punctuation and symbols absent from the 1954–72 Lettera source, extending coverage to Western, Central and Northern European scripts including Sami languages. The bold visual presence and monospaced uniformity invite typographic play without sacrificing legibility at display sizes.
Classification
Bass is strictly monospaced with each character occupying uniform width and height, derived from a lettering alphabet in Lettera (1954–72). Its bold, grid-like construction and use in posters and record covers places it firmly in display rather than text territory.
