Store Norske Skandia Mono
Store Norske Skriftkompani · Arve Båtevik

A monospaced companion to the Skandia neo-grotesque family, designed by Arve Båtevik and rooted in a long-lost Norwegian railway typeface.
About
Derived from Skandia, which originates from a Scandinavian neo-grotesque designed for the Norwegian National Railway, this monospaced variant preserves the parent family's balanced contrast and geometric construction while placing those forms into a fixed-width structure. The regular interval of monospaced setting brings alignment and repetition into sharper focus, producing a denser text image with a more deliberate rhythm between letter and space. Language support extends across Western, Central and Northern European scripts including Nordic and Sami languages, with a full complement of OpenType features.
Classification
A fixed-width companion to a neo-grotesque sans, retaining balanced contrast and geometric construction from the parent family within a monospaced structure.
