Designed by Arve Båtevik for Store Norske Skriftkompani, Tango takes Intertype Vogue as its starting point and departs substantially, prioritising primitive geometric shapes and a monolinear structure where horizontal and vertical strokes hold equal weight, producing an optical suggestion of reverse contrast. Two italic styles are offered: a conventional slant at 10° and a second at 20° that nods to early sans serif conventions, giving designers an expressive range within the family. Its unguarded, naïve quality suits headline work, bold branding and contemporary visual identities across a broad Latin character set covering Western, Central and Northern European scripts including Sami languages.
