Designed by Matyáš Machat, Edgy reconciles the organic logic of Renaissance serif type with the strict realities of vector drawing, paring each letterform back to the fewest Bézier points possible without losing its essential dynamism. Six static styles run from Light to ExtraBold, accompanied by a variable axis, and the family supports 302 languages across Latin script. OpenType features include oldstyle figures, discretionary ligatures, fractions and six stylistic sets.
Classification
The foundry explicitly describes Edgy as an attempt to reconcile vector curves with the dynamic essence of Renaissance serif type, placing it squarely in the humanist/Renaissance serif tradition despite its contemporary digital construction approach.
