Designed by Rostislav Vaněk in collaboration with Matyáš Machat and Petr Kučera, Epika spans eight weights from ExtraLight to Black, each with a matching italic, plus a variable font. The design takes a broadly classical serif structure and introduces idiosyncratic details — alternate letterforms across 19 stylistic sets and 13 OpenType features including small caps, swash, oldstyle figures and discretionary ligatures. Coverage extends to 310 languages within the Latin script.
