Gradient Gothic specimen from Superior Type

A sans-serif by Matyáš Machat that bridges constructed gothic letterforms with the looseness of handwritten script, unified by a recurring diagonal stroke.

About

Eight static styles from Thin to ExtraBold are accompanied by a variable axis, giving designers fine control across the full weight range. Rather than imposing uniformity across letterforms, the design embraces diversity in individual characters, with a diagonal stroke acting as the sole binding element and a nod to 20th-century graphic traditions. Ten stylistic sets and a broad feature set including oldstyle figures, discretionary ligatures and contextual alternates add considerable flexibility for editorial and display use.

Classification

Described as a transitional typeface connecting constructed sans-serif features with playful handwriting; the gothic naming and diagonal stroke motif place it in the gothic sans tradition with expressive, humanist inflections.
