Finlay Sans specimen from Supertype

A humanist sans by Martin Wenzel derived from the Finlay script family, with rounded stroke endings and slightly curved forms that lend it warmth across seven weights.

About

Born as a sans counterpart to the Finlay script typeface, it strips away the swashes whilst retaining gently curved strokes and rounded terminals that keep it from feeling cold or mechanical. A large x-height and open apertures make it comfortable at text sizes, while the friendly character holds up well at display scale on packaging, print and signage. Seven weights from Light to Black give enough range for typographic contrast and clear hierarchy within a single design.

Classification

Described explicitly as humanist in the foundry's copy, with open letterforms, rounded stroke endings and slightly curved strokes derived from its script companion Finlay, placing it firmly in the humanist sans tradition.
