Bread Pan specimen from Taylor Penton

A single-weight display face drawn from the angular forms of bread clips, sitting somewhere between hand-lettered and industrial oddity.

About

The letterforms take their cues from the small plastic tags used to seal bread bags, resulting in a simple, slightly irregular face with an unpretentious charm. Sold as a single Regular weight with OTF and webfont files, it covers Western European Latin with accented characters for Icelandic, Welsh and Central European languages. Best suited to packaging, branding and short-copy work where a low-key, handmade feel is wanted without heavy vintage affectation.

Classification

Inspired by the angular, utilitarian forms of bread clips, Bread Pan sits firmly in the display category as a novelty hand-drawn face with a quirky, informal character unsuited to running text.
