The Designers Foundry · Mateusz Machalski

A geometric display type family drawn from vernacular bus signage in Mexico's Yucatan peninsula, spanning ten width variants from Turbo Condensed to Turbo Expanded.
About
Designed by Mateusz Machalski and inspired by the lettering found on colectivo buses in the Yucatan peninsula, the family pairs geometric construction with thin details and reversed contrast for a mechanical, brutalist character. Ten static width styles plus a variable font cover an unusually broad range, from tightly compressed to aggressively expanded. Updated to Pro in November 2025, it now includes Cyrillic and Greek alongside an extensive Latin language roster.
Classification
Described as brutalist and mechanical with geometric forms, very thin details and reversed contrast, drawing from vernacular bus signage typography. Its extreme width range and display character place it firmly in the display category.
