seriftransitional serifitalic
Resan specimen from The Designers Foundry

A display serif by Karol Mularczyk drawing on transitional type from the 17th and 18th centuries, offered in five weights with matching italics and variable font support.

About

Informed by the organic warmth of transitional serifs, the design pairs sharp rhythm and generous proportions with finely cut details suited to display sizes. An alternative terminals feature allows the terminal shapes to be swapped, meaningfully shifting the overall mood of the type. The family is presented as the first chapter of a broader Resan superfamily, with additional optical weights in development.

Classification

The designer explicitly cites transitional types of the 17th and early 18th centuries as the primary influence, with sharp rhythm, generous proportions and finely cut details characteristic of that period.
