About
Rooted in a condensed Didone Quay originally drew for Letraset in 1987, Foundry Tiento takes the same dramatic stroke contrast into more classical proportions, with unbracketed hairline serifs and a vertical axis drawn in the manner of Bodoni and Didot. Four weights from Regular to Heavy each carry a matching italic, and the extreme contrast of the letterforms is preserved across the range whilst the hairline stroke remains constant. The character set covers Central and Eastern European languages with small caps, extended ligatures and four figure sets.

Foundry Tiento is a Neo-classical Didone with strong thick-thin contrast, unbracketed hairline serifs and a vertical stress axis, placing it firmly in the Bodoni and Didot tradition of the late 18th and early 19th century.
