About
Originally developed as a custom commission for the Brazilian press group Folha de São Paulo, the two families Folha Texto and Folha Gráfico replaced earlier Tipografies releases that the publisher had licensed but required exclusively. Designer Jordi Embodas accentuated humanist characteristics across both families to produce a warm, approachable quality suited to long newspaper reading across print, web and app contexts. Because exclusivity is limited to Brazil, both families are available for commercial licensing elsewhere in five weights with matching italics, small caps and comprehensive OpenType features.
Classification
Folha Texto is a serif companion to the sans Folha Gráfico, with accentuated humanist traits and warm, friendly letterforms designed for editorial newspaper use. The serif-led family drives the classification, with the humanist quality explicitly foregrounded by the foundry.
