A humanist sans-serif by John Hudson and Paul Hanslow, built specifically to support the orthographic needs of Indigenous languages across North America.

About

Designed by John Hudson and Paul Hanslow at Tiro Typeworks with assistant designer Kaja Słojewska, Skeena Indigenous carries 736 glyphs to cover the specialised diacritics, modified letters and extensions required by Indigenous language communities. Twelve static styles run from Regular to Black with matching italics, accompanied by two variable font files. The family is distributed free, with full sources and build tools available via GitHub, and is included in the Microsoft font library.

Classification

Skeena Indigenous is a humanist sans-serif designed with extended Latin coverage for Indigenous languages of North America, including specialised diacritics and characters not found in standard Latin character sets.
