Mosko
Tofu Type · Reese Lee · 2023

A single-weight all-caps stencil display typeface by Reese Lee, drawn from Cold War Berlin's graphic culture and built for large-scale, assertive use.
About
Designed by Reese Lee and released in May 2023, Mosko takes its name as an anagram of a Soviet-era Berlin restaurant called KOSMOS. The glyphs are bisected down their vertical centreline, a structural metaphor for the Berlin Wall's division of the city, with letterforms sharing component parts across the alphabet. There is no lowercase by design: the typeface is intended for shouting, not conversation, making it well suited to posters, signage and protest graphics.
Classification
A single-weight all-caps stencil display typeface with heavy, chunky construction and no lowercase, explicitly designed for large-scale display use with a strong graphic character.
