Renwick
Tofu Type · Reese Lee · 2023

A British humanist sans by Reese Lee, drawn in the tradition of Johnston Sans and Gill Sans and optimised for body copy at small sizes.
About
Renwick takes its cues from British humanist sans serifs of the 1920s, citing Johnston Sans, Gill Sans and Granby as its touchstones. Open apertures, calligraphic lowercase forms and generous letterspacing make it well-suited to sustained reading at 9pt, and a full set of OpenType small caps supports novel and long-form typesetting. Language support covers over 200 Latin-script languages including Vietnamese and Greenlandic. The family is currently undergoing a full redesign, with the original release remaining available in the interim.
Classification
Explicitly classified as a humanist sans in the British tradition, drawing on Johnston Sans, Gill Sans and Granby as direct references with calligraphic influence in the lowercase.
