Yoko Mono
Trulytype · 2017

A single-weight monospace inspired by Yoko Ono's poetry and the visual traditions of concrete poetry, with square, brush-inflected letterforms.
About
Released in 2017, the typeface draws on concrete poetry's idea of letterforms as visual material in their own right, with squared shapes that echo a painter's brushwork. Available in one weight only, it covers an unusually broad Latin script range spanning over fifty languages. Best suited to experimental, sculptural typographic work rather than extended text.
Classification
Listed under Monospace and Sans Serif by the foundry; square-infused letterforms with a fixed-width structure place it firmly in the geometric monospace category.
