Malebolge
Tunera · Ariel Martín Pérez · 2020

A deliberately extravagant display typeface by Ariel Martín Pérez, named after the eighth circle of Dante's Inferno and shaped by the anxieties of 2020.
About
The letterforms draw their character from the ditches dividing Dante's Malebolge, with jagged or fractured edges running through the design. Released under the SIL Open Font License, this first public version offers a limited glyphset with further characters planned. The typeface is free to use, distribute and modify with credit to Tunera and the designer.
Classification
Described as extravagant with letter forms inspired by the ditches of Dante's eighth circle of hell, suggesting highly irregular, expressive forms that place it firmly in the display/experimental category rather than any conventional classification.
