Teranoptia
Tunera · Ariel Martín Pérez

A letterless pictorial font by Ariel Martín Pérez that maps keyboard characters to hand-drawn chimeric creatures and plants inspired by the Bayeux Tapestry and medieval marginalia.
About
Rather than letterforms, each key produces an illustrated animal, plant or hybrid creature drawn from medieval manuscript traditions and the Bayeux Tapestry. The current release covers A–Z with some diacritics and symbols, giving enough coverage to build continuous border ornaments or scatter marginalia through a layout. Released under the SIL Open Font License and available as a free download from Tunera.
Classification
Teranoptia contains no letterforms whatsoever; each keystroke produces an illustrated creature, plant or ornamental motif drawn from medieval and Bayeux Tapestry sources. It functions as a dingbat or pictorial font, best classified as a display ornament face.
