Jamille™ Pro specimen from Type Culture

A Didone serif with concave stems and contemporary modelling, originally released as ITC Jamille in 1988 and now greatly expanded for TypeCulture with swash caps and extensive OpenType features.

About

Designed by Mark Jamra from 1981 and first brought to market through ITC in 1988, this modern serif occupies the same territory as Bodoni and Didot but with a distinct approach to stem modelling that sets it apart. The TypeCulture release adds large character sets, lively swash caps exclusive to this edition and a full suite of OpenType features including multiple figure styles, fractions and historical forms. The family covers three weights with matching italics and functions across both text and display settings.

Classification

Described explicitly as a modern or Didone type with concave stems and contemporary modelling, placing it squarely in the high-contrast rational serif tradition associated with Bodoni and Didot.
