Evangelion Font Family specimen from Type Department

A geometric display sans by Domenico Barréto, drawing on Wim Crouwel's grid-based lettering and the visual identity of the Evangelion anime series.

About

Built on strict geometric construction, the typeface references Crouwel's modular, grid-driven approach to letterform design and pairs it with the angular drama associated with the Evangelion franchise. Two styles are available, Regular and Italic, with a glyph set of 525 characters covering Latin Extended, diacritics, three sets of numerals, fractions and arrows. Best suited to headlines, posters and branding where a hard-edged, constructed look is the goal.

Classification

A sans-serif constructed with strict geometric rigour and a flat, modular aesthetic drawn from Wim Crouwel's grid-based lettering; its display intent and bold visual character place it firmly in the display category.
