Faust
Type Department · Bouk Ra

An experimental display typeface by Bouk Ra with deliberately deformed serifs and wide alternates, available in two named styles drawn from the Faust legend.
About
Designed by Bouk Ra, the family comes in two distinct styles, Wagner and Mephisto, each with a matching italic, giving four files in total. The deformed serifs and wide alternate characters create an uneven, theatrical rhythm suited to posters, editorial spreads and branding that needs an overtly dark or literary register. A glyph set of 450 includes ligatures, fractions, four stylistic alternate sets and broad Latin Extended diacritic coverage.
Classification
Faust features deliberately deformed serifs and dramatic, wide alternates, placing it firmly in the display category with an experimental serif structure drawn for expressive, editorial use rather than text settings.
