BD Eject specimen from Type Different

A Y2K mixed-case display typeface from 1998, later remixed with Japanese Katakana variants by Savwo of Cyclone Graphix, Tokyo.

About

Originally created in 1998 and delivered on floppy disk, BD Eject carries an authentic late-nineties digital aesthetic in its mixed-case forms. Savwo from Cyclone Graphix in Tokyo later extended the family with Katakana variants in three flavours: Lowerphat, Upperphat and Regular. The family covers a broad range of Latin languages alongside Japanese Katakana, making it a distinctive choice for Y2K-inflected design work with cross-cultural reach.

Classification

BD Eject is a stylised Y2K-era mixed-case display typeface with a distinctly decorative, culture-specific aesthetic that places it firmly in the display category rather than any neutral or text-oriented style.
