Originally created in 2003 by Type Different intern Caspar Herselman, BD ElMax lifts its letterforms directly from the Maxell cassette tape brand identity. It exists as a single Regular weight covering Western European Latin, with modest extended language support added in 2023. Best suited to retro-themed design work, packaging and editorial contexts where a mid-century analogue aesthetic is intended.
