BD MicronFont
Type Different · 2019

A modular, technology-inspired display typeface created for the TechnoCulture 2 festival in Fribourg in 2019, offered as a variable font across five width variants.
About
Originally commissioned as the visual identity typeface for TechnoCulture 2, a festival in Fribourg, Switzerland, BD MicronFont is built from geometric shapes that suggest circuitry and robotics. The variable font axis spans five named widths from Condensed to Extended, and the same glyph shapes were repurposed to construct a companion set of illustrated robot characters. Latin script coverage extends to Western and Northern European languages.
Classification
Constructed from modular, geometric shapes evoking circuit boards and pixel grids; designed explicitly as a display typeface with a technological and playful aesthetic rather than for body text use.
