Karst specimen from Type Forward

A geometric sans serif with nine weights, italic variants and a variable font, covering Latin and Cyrillic with a strong OpenType feature set.

About

Designed by Stan Partalev and Mirela Belova, Karst runs from Hairline to Black across nine weights with corresponding italics and a variable font. Cyrillic coverage includes localised forms and two stylistic sets for oval Cyrillic letterforms, while the Latin supports ordinals, fractions, small figures, case-sensitive punctuation and multiple ligature sets. The foundry positions it as contemporary and edgy, making it serviceable for editorial and branding work that needs a clean geometric base with some personality.

Classification

The foundry explicitly describes Karst as a geometric sans serif; its construction and contemporary edgy character align with the geometric sans subcategory.
