Designed by Laura Meseguer, Ella is structured across four named subfamilies — Roman, Uncial, Rustic and Brutalist — each available in Regular and Bold, giving the family a wide expressive range within a shared serif sensibility. The grouping draws on historical lettering traditions while the Brutalist cut pushes the family into more contemporary, raw territory. Recognised by the Type Directors Club in 2023, it suits editorial and cultural projects that benefit from typographic contrast across a single type system.
