Commissioned for the centenary of the University of Ljubljana, this sans draws on Slovenian avant-garde and typographic heritage to serve a broad institutional range from wayfinding to academic publishing.
About
Designed by Alja Herlah and winner of the Brumen Biennial award for best typography in 2022, it was created specifically for the University of Ljubljana's hundredth anniversary. The family spans four weights from Light to Bold, each with an italic, giving enough range for formal correspondence, signage and scientific articles within a single coherent voice. Its Central European language support and blend of official weight with visual distinctiveness make it well suited to complex institutional identity systems.
Classification
Described as combining Slovenian avant-garde influences with recognisable Slovenian typographic forms; its functional range across identity, wayfinding and academic use places it firmly in the humanist sans tradition.
