TT Quaris specimen from TypeType

A high-contrast display sans from TypeType, built for luxury branding and editorial work, with an optional spiky stylistic set that shifts its character from refined to provocative.

About

Developed over two years and 2,500 hours, TT Quaris pairs fluid, rounded letterforms with sharp details including a geometric apex on the 't', diamond-shaped punctuation and optional spurs via the SS01 OpenType feature. The family spans six upright and six italic styles plus two variable fonts on a weight axis, with true italic forms that are narrower and lighter than the uprights. Coverage extends to over 230 languages across Latin and Cyrillic, and the glyph set includes medieval-themed ornamental icons alongside 29 OpenType features.

Classification

A high-contrast display sans with marked stroke variation akin to a serif but without serifs, placing it firmly in the display category; the optional spiky stylistic set (SS01) adds sharp spurs and spikes, extending its expressive range further toward the decorative end of the spectrum.
