Released in 2021 and substantially updated in 2026, TT Rationalist distinguishes itself from conventional slabs through trapezoidal rather than rectangular serifs and a deliberately low contrast that avoids period associations. The Black weight was carefully balanced to shed any Wild West retro character, making it serviceable for posters without feeling historical. The family spans 22 styles including two variable fonts, covers over 235 languages across Latin and Cyrillic, and offers 31 OpenType features including small caps and oldstyle figures.
