Designed by Antonina Zhulkova as part of TypeType's Ricordi series, which mines historical plaques and inscriptions for contemporary type. The family sits at the boundary between classical Antiqua and Florentine grotesque, with hyperbolised dynamic proportions, strong stroke contrast and wedge-shaped stroke ends in place of serifs. A major 2025 update added a full lowercase, three new weights, a variable font, and support for over 230 languages across extended Latin and Cyrillic.

Described by TypeType as a Florentine grotesque, the typeface sits between classical Antiqua and grotesque: it has no traditional serifs but features strong stroke contrast and wedge-shaped terminals drawn from stone-carved inscriptions.
