TT Ricordi Greto specimen from TypeType

A display sans drawn from a 1423 Florentine floor inscription in the Basilica di Santa Croce, with flared terminals, closed apertures and deliberately preserved historical irregularities.

About

Designed by Ksenia Karataeva as the only sans serif in TypeType's TT Ricordi collection, this typeface traces its forms to an Early Renaissance stone inscription and carries that origin through flaring stroke ends, dynamic proportions and subtle serif hints. The 2025 update doubled the glyph count to 1,365, added fully developed lowercase letters, expanded Cyrillic and Latin coverage to over 230 languages, and brought the OpenType feature count to 32. Best suited to editorial headlines, cultural branding, packaging and signage where historical texture needs to coexist with contemporary weight contrast.

Classification

Derived from a 1423 Florentine floor inscription, TT Ricordi Greto is a low-contrast sans serif with Renaissance letterform character, closed apertures and flared terminals that position it firmly as a display face rather than a general-purpose sans.
