Langar specimen from Typeland

A handwritten upright-italic typeface by Alessia Mazzarella, designed to work across both Gurmukhi and Latin scripts in a single style.

About

Released in November 2019, Langar is a single-weight typeface that pairs Gurmukhi and Latin in a unified handwritten voice. Its upright-italic character gives it an informal, calligraphic rhythm without leaning into conventional slanted script conventions. Available in OTF, TTF, WOFF and WOFF2, it is a relatively rare example of a hand-drawn face extending genuine coverage to the Gurmukhi script.

Classification

Langar is described by the foundry as an upright-italic handwritten typeface, covering both Gurmukhi and Latin scripts, placing it firmly in the script/handwritten category with an unusual upright-italic character.
