Cera Mono
TypeMates · Antonia Cornelius, Jakob Runge · 2024

A fixed-width companion to Cera Pro that carries the family's circular geometry into a monospaced format suited to code, data and industrial typography.
About
Designed by Antonia Cornelius and Jakob Runge, Cera Mono adapts the geometric foundations of Cera Pro to a uniform character width defined by an almost-perfectly round lowercase o. Rather than mechanically stretching narrow letters like l and i, the design uses the momentum of outstroke angles to fill the fixed width, producing what TypeMates describe as a controlled dissonance between typewriter texture and geometric precision. Six weights from Thin to Black, an optional half-width mode via Stylistic Set 15, a variable font version and coverage of around 270 languages across Latin, Cyrillic and Greek make it a thorough workhorse for technical and cultural contexts alike.
Classification
A fixed-width companion to the geometric sans Cera Pro, sharing its circular geometry and humanist sensibility while conforming to monospaced spacing conventions. Classified as monospaced rather than sans-serif because the fixed-pitch constraint is the defining design decision.
