Gustine specimen from TypeMates

A geometric sans by Natalie Rauch that tempers the genre's typical austerity with wide proportions, sharp terminals and warmly rounded curves.

About

Designed by Natalie Rauch and released in 2025, Gustine spans seven weights from Thin to Black, with a variable font option and a character set covering more than 580 glyphs per style. Wide proportions and sharply tapered joins give it presence at display sizes, while open counters and well-rounded curves in letters like C, G and a keep it readable at text sizes. Alternate glyphs including a single-storey g and double-storey a, plus extensive Latin coverage for up to 200 languages, make it adaptable across screen, signage and editorial contexts.

Classification

Gustine is explicitly described as geometric, with wide proportions, sharp terminals, high contrast and smooth curves characteristic of the geometric sans genre, while incorporating humanist warmth through rounded letters and sweeping stroke endings.
