Gustine Vaganza
TypeMates · Natalie Rauch · 2025

A geometric sans with deliberate eccentricities, bridging calligraphic fluidity and sharp geometry across seven weights and a standalone display black cut called Gustine Extra.
About
Designed by Natalie Rauch and released in 2025, Gustine Vaganza is an expressive extension of the Gustine family, drawing its name from the Italian 'estravaganza'. Letterforms like E, G, B and k show handwritten fluidity while deep joints in V, W and A retain the sharpness of the parent design, creating an intentional tension between calligraphy and geometry. Gustine Extra, a standalone black display weight, pushes further still with swashed initials, contrasting punctuation and intensified joints, intended for headlines and branding where personality is the point.
Classification
A geometric sans with expressive, calligraphic inflections and eccentric letterform details that bridge geometry and handwriting. The design leans into display territory but retains enough text-weight usability to sit within the broader sans-serif category.
