Juneau specimen from TypeMates

A geometric grotesque by Philipp Neumeyer that draws on old metal grotesques like Miller & Richard's to balance construction with warmth across eight weights and matching italics.

About

Circular rounds informed by historical metal grotesques sit alongside economic proportions and wide diagonal strokes, giving Juneau a dynamic quality without the coldness of strict geometric sans designs. The italics lean on the upright's structure with a shallow 11.98-degree angle, integrating the two styles without rupturing the family's overall character. Over 1,300 glyphs per style cover more than 250 languages across Latin and native-approved Cyrillic, with small caps, multiple figure sets and stylistic alternates rounding out the OpenType feature set.

Classification

Juneau blends geometric construction derived from circular rounds with the warmth and irregularity of old metal grotesques, placing it squarely in the geometric grotesque tradition rather than a pure geometric or neutral grotesque.
