Designed by Nils Thomsen and released in 2016, Pensum Pro draws on brush and broad-nib calligraphic traditions while keeping its overall colour low-contrast and highly legible in long text. Strong serifs and ink traps sustain readability at small sizes whilst the same details become expressive in headlines and large italic quotes. The family runs to 18 styles across nine weights, with over 1,000 glyphs, small caps wider than the caps, and case-sensitive punctuation for careful book and magazine typography. It was named a Typographica Favourite Typeface of 2016.
