sans-serifhumanist sansitalic
Pensum Sans specimen from TypeMates

A sans-serif companion to Pensum Pro, built on the same legible skeleton and spanning nine weights from Thin to Black with matched italics.

About

Pensum Sans shares its proportions and rhythm with the Pensum Pro serif, making the two well suited for mixed typographic environments in publishing and editorial work. Nine weights run from Thin to Black, each with a matched italic, and ink traps with finely balanced contrast give the face stability at small text sizes while remaining expressive in headlines and large italic quotes. Over a thousand glyphs cover extended Latin support alongside small caps, case-sensitive punctuation and a range of OpenType features.

Classification

Shares a skeletal structure with its serif companion Pensum Pro, giving it humanist proportions and rhythm rather than geometric or grotesque construction. Ink traps, balanced contrast and refined details point clearly to a text-first humanist approach.
