Weymann Serif specimen from TypeMates

A calligraphically inflected text serif by Marc Weymann, drawing form from the double pencil gesture while maintaining typographic composure across six weights.

About

Designed by Marc Weymann and released in 2025, the family runs from Regular to Black with matching italics set at a subtle 9-degree slope, plus a slightly darker Book cut for extended reading. Bracketed serifs carry a manuscript quality while open counters and wide letterforms keep the face legible at small sizes and expressive in display settings. Small caps, subscript figures and more than 850 glyphs per font round out a set built for books, journals and editorial work.

Classification

Bracketed serifs and open counters with calligraphic influence from the double pencil writing tool; a humanist serif balancing manuscript warmth with typographic discipline and editorial clarity.
