Yuni Grotesque
TypeMates · Philipp Neumeyer · 2025

A compressed grotesque by Philipp Neumeyer with playfully contrasted curves, covering six weights from Hair to Black with italics sloped at 18°.
About
Released in 2025 as the second member of the Yuni Collection alongside Yuni Slab, this compressed grotesque pairs flattened outer curves with near-circular inner counters at heavier weights, producing a tension that feels controlled rather than chaotic. Twelve styles include deeply sloped italics at 18°, and a variable font spans the full weight range. With over 900 glyphs per style, native-approved Cyrillic and Latin coverage for more than 270 languages, it suits intrusive branding, oversized display work and editorial layouts where a narrow footprint is non-negotiable.
Classification
A compressed grotesque sans with deliberately playful curves and a wide weight range, combining flattened outer curves with near-circular counters at heavier weights. Designed as a companion to Yuni Slab within the broader Yuni Collection.
