Pradell Arabic specimen from Typerepublic

A multiscript typeface by Andreu Balius pairing a traditional Naskh-style Arabic with its Latin counterpart, Pradell, for literary text composition.

About

Designed between 2009 and 2013, this typeface draws on the Naskh calligraphic tradition to produce an Arabic script suited to literary typesetting. The family covers extended Arabic including Farsi and Urdu, alongside extended Latin, and is offered in Regular and Bold weights. It won a European Design Award in 2011 and is conceived as a direct companion to the broader Pradell Latin family.

Classification

The Arabic script component follows the traditional Naskh calligraphic style, a broadly used serif-like script family for literary text; the Latin counterpart is the Pradell serif family, making this a multiscript serif pairing.
