Originally produced in 1942 by Fundición Tipográfica Iranzo in Barcelona, SuperTipo Veloz replaced complete characters with combinable metal modules, freeing printers from the constraints of conventional lead type. Digitised in 2004 by Andreu Balius and Àlex Trochut, the revival comprises nine styles across Basic, Complement, RasgosVeloz and two Caps families designed for drop caps, logotypes and letterheads. The system won the Type Directors Club Excellence in Type Design award in 2005.
